A teenager in Mariestad was mutilated and had his finger cut off. The gruesome crime came to police attention after the teenager came to hospital for his injuries and personnel contacted police. The investigation found that the perpetrators besides the mutilation was involved in other serious crimes. They are now charged with aggravated assault, extortion, kidnapping and robbery.

Another similar gruesome crime took place in Boliden on October 11. A young man was beaten, humiliated and had his finger cut of. The mutilation was filmed with a cellphone. The video was published on Facebook.
